The Coastal GasLink Pipeline is a 670-kilometer pipeline that will transport natural gas from near Dawson Creek in British Columbia to a massive LNG Canada processing facility in Kitimat on the West Coast, where it will be liquefied and shipped to Asia, opening up new markets for Canadian producers. The pipeline’s last weld was completed on October 7th, 2023, and it will supply natural gas from Dawson Creek to Kitimat. It is expected to be mechanically complete before the end of 2023.

Natural gas is a cleaner-burning alternative to coal, which is a major contributor to carbon emissions. By providing an affordable alternative to coal consumption, the Coastal GasLink Pipeline completion will help reduce the carbon emissions of emerging countries.

Tapping into global LNG markets is critical for the future growth of the Canadian natural gas sector, which believes its product can be used as a cleaner-burning alternative to emissions-heavy coal in parts of Asia.

In conclusion, the completion of the Coastal GasLink Pipeline will help reduce carbon emissions by providing an affordable alternative to coal consumption. It will also open up new markets for Canadian producers and contribute to the growth of the Canadian natural gas sector.
